Is there a way to adjust gradient transition?

I'm using the gradient tool but want the gradient to have less transition in between, basically be a little more severe. Is there a way to adjust for this?

There are various ways. There is a gradient edit tool but if you are using a simple gradient use the on canvas slider between the endpoints.
