Issues starting with Windows 10

Shocked
Hi buddies, I'm new on the forum. I'm from Spain so sorry for my English.

Today I update GIMP 2.8.22 to 2.10.0 but when I start it shows me some errors while it's loading for checking new complements.

The first one is about the plugin Save for the web (webexport.exe), I deleted it from C:\Users\xxx\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins but anyway show me the message error, "The application can't start correctly (0xc000007b). Really I full deleted this folder C:\Users\xxx\.gimp-2.8

The second is about the plugin G'MIC (gmic_gimp_qt.exe). GIMP message error says "Doesn't found the entry point of..."
  1. g_file_test in C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\bin\libgmodule-2.0-0.dll
  2. g_getenv in C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\bin\libgobject-2.0-0.dll
Looks like an old registry key that the uninstaller doesn't delete. I started regedit.exe and deleted all the keys associated with webexpot.exe and gmic_gimp_qt.exe

But the problem persists. So may anyone help me? Idea  Thanks in advance.

Welcome to gimp-forum.net

I think the webexport.exe plugin is 32 bit. There is no 32 bit support in Gimp 2.10 just 64 bit. That plugin will never work. As far as I know there is no 64 bit version, although maybe somebody might come up with one.

There is a problem with the gimp_gmic_qt windows version when used with Gimp 2.10. You will have to wait until it is fixed.

Never a good idea. Always back things up. Never know when they will be needed again.

Hi rich2005

I found the problem!! when I installed GIMP 2.10 over 2.8.22 it got G'MIC and Save for the web plugins and does a copy in a new folder C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins

I delete the files into this folder and its start Ok!

Thank you for your quickly answer ;-)

While the QT version needs fixing the GTK version still works.

You can use the gmic-gtk version in Gimp 2.10

Get it from the gmic site. Make sure it is the 64 bit version. https://i.imgur.com/9Zep8DX.jpg

Use the zipped package. Open the zip and copy the folder (not the files) into the Gimp 2.10 profile plug-ins folder. https://i.imgur.com/qNmExDz.jpg

Add the path to the folder in the Gimp `Edit -> Preferences' https://i.imgur.com/qDtQhKx.jpg
