Possibly this problem: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/4900

That is a long post, and boils down to Mac installations using either versions of pango 1.44 or 1.43
pango is used for rendering fonts.

from the bug report
Quote:There have been 2 builds of GIMP 2.10.14 with 2 different versions of Pango.
Just in case, could you try them both to see if one of them reads correctly the 0B font files:
https://download.gimp.org/mirror/pub/gim...x86_64.dmg
https://download.gimp.org/mirror/pub/gim...6_64-1.dmg

Whichever you have installed worth trying the other.

Thanks Rich2005, I installed the other (1.43) and it seems to load the font files no problem!
