Hi, am using W10 operating system. I can't find older saved .gimp files. Will only show recent files. Can you help please.

What exactly do you mean by .gimp files ?
Are these images saved in Gimp .xcf format or something else ?
If you have one of those old files can you post as an attachment in case. They might be damaged in some way

Gimp version: 2.10
Can you find them in File Explorer? If you can check the folder location. Then check the folder gimp is using. To find gimp files search for xcf.
