Change the ribbon color each time and reprint on the same paper. Usually the result was an abstract, semi-transparent colored sheet of paper

The system would output a page with a list of switches and valves to turn off before maintenance. After maintenance, for tests, a slightly different set would be used. Before computers, they would just cross out things in the original sheet, so they asked to project to take the initial sheet, put it back in the printer and cross things out, the sheet having been folded and carried in someone's pocket for the day. Needless to say this didn't go well and we had to introduce these people to the Ways of the Computer.
