I'd like to knock out a few prints for friends and family and am looking for some advice on the size and resolution I need to be working at to give me a a print of 'wall-hangable' size (maybe 8 inches square).
I currently work at 600px square / 300 PPI, but converting px to inches seems to be far more confusing than I imagined.
Any and all advice very welcome.

Gimp version: 2.10
For 8 inches @ 300 dpi:
8 * 300 = 2400 pixels
So you will need a 2400 x 2400 pixel image.

You dont have to do the math (although its good to know what the math behind it is).
Gimp helps you doing it when you set up a new document via the menu.
You can change units in the dropdown menu, and adjust DPI (Resolution) in the Advanced Settings, when you click the little plus.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
rich, your video certainly doesn't confuse the issue. In fact it covers all the concerns I had. Thanks again all.
