The dashed line square around a pasted item is too small for me to rotate it without it cutting off. I know how to do layer>crop to content but how do I do the opposite and make the boundary bigger?
Rotating item cuts it off, how to enlarge content boundary?

This sounds like you might want Image > Fit Canvas to Layer, but I may be misunderstanding. marigolden Wrote:I know how to do layer>crop to content but how do I do the opposite and make the boundary bigger? I would say the Layer > Layer to Image Size would be the opposite.

Hm nothing seems to happen when I press Image>Fit Canvas to Layers, the screen kind of just blinks. and then in the undo it says I've resized it even though it doesn't seem like it. Yeah the layer>layer to image size is related to what I meant but I didn't want quite that big yet that is super useful to see that option brought up as being an extension of this one! Thank you(Uᵔᴥᵔ)

There are several options to handle the result when rotating a layer. Some enlarge it, so when it is canvas-sized to begins with (or near an edge), parts of the rotated layer are outside the canvas. In that case Image>Fit canvas to layers is your friend.
