What do you want to achieve in first place should be the real question... I think it's this one, https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Gimp-101 but sadly it's not a tutorial nor linked to tutorials. IMO you better search on youtube because "most basic" is already a Huuuge topic... and certainly not here nor in any forums as it's already assumed that people reading tutorials want to achieve something like an effect. My advice is to find a good 1 or 2 hours video with GIMP opened at the same time and ready to pause the video to reproduce the steps in the video and prepare yourself for 5 times the length of the video repeating what you see in the video (those who learned to start with Blender by making that donut know what I'm speaking about ) BTW this is the wrong sub-forum to open a thread asking for help

This tutorial section is not large, go back to page 7 and work back, for anything that interests you. The problem I found with making tutorials is most basic stuff has been done (and done again and again and...) These days I might make something specific for a forum member. There are plenty old and new on youtube, New is not always best, plenty with self-promotion, verbose bs and little actual Gimp content. For non-video, reasonably up-to-date worth checking this site: https://www.mora-foto.it/en/tutorials-gi...rials.html It does lean towards Photo Editing but the basics are there. Ooooh yes mora-foto, OMG... and it was already in my long old Firefox bookmarks (I saw the blue star on the URI address bar) Thank SO MUCH Rich for the reminder |
