Gimp version: 2.10
I have been finding it dfficult to get to grips with Gimp regarding text. Anyway I have been having a go on Inkscape and the text option is a lot easier to be honest. Is it possible to import the text as a PNG file or JPEG into Gimp.

Operating system(s):
- Windows (Vista and later)
Gimp version: 2.10
If you import the text as a PNG file or JPEG it will be bitmap ie no longer text. Not what you want.
You can copy text from another program. To be safe, paste into something like Windows Notepad as this will strip out any formatting characters if they exist. Now copy from Notepad. Then with the Text Tool active in Gimp you can paste.
