gimp don't let me dock color tab above tabs right side
#1
Hi everyone , I'm using Gimp 3.0.2-1 ( converted to Photogimp) and happens that when the window shows up the software don't let me adjust the window vertically , so....I can't be able to see the options of the lower right side compared to photoshop I'm talking about the another layer, opacity tool, and others. I tried to edit the preferences of window but no results to adjust the window vertically to fit the screen and I can be able to see the lower tools and options. Any recommend will be highly appreciated, my profound thanks in advance.

If the window is too tall and you can't grab the bottom, then just grab the top to reduce the height from the top, and then drag the window up?

I don't know what PhotoGimp does exactly but it make the UI look like PS, it could have imported its own window  positions, and this includes the size of the main window. So your possibilities are:

  1. complain to the PhotoGimp author,
  2. find the sessionrc file in your Gimp profile, and find tjhe defintion of the main window, and change its size
  3. find the sessionrc file, and erase it to have Gimp start with reasonable defaults. Of course this wipes out the PS-like UI.

well Ofnuts that's was my first thought at the beginning but that was the issue, as the Photogimp interface don't let me adjust the window vertically , I started to brainstorming myself how to solve that issue , but let me tell you, the software do permitted me to adjust the window horizontally, so would you like to know what I did? well you'll laugh anyway but I will tell ya....I right clicked on the task bar>position of the taskbar> clicked on left> and placed the task bar at the left side of the screen, and adjusted the width of the software window (just for photogimp 3.0.1-2) after close the software? put the task bar down side. and voila, momentarilly problem solved  Big Grin Big Grin , but thank you anyway for trying to help me. really thank you!
