That doesn't work as desired. I need to zoom independently.
And secondly as rich2005 already wrote: "A Navigation Dock can be fixed above the Gimp main window. Snag is the dimmed display."

As long as there is no plugin or similar i will switch to multi-window mode while editing and pin the preview-window (New View).
