Hey all...
So I was wondering if anyone had some advice. I have files with something on the order of 2000+ brushes I like to have the option of using. I moved the files into Gimp and organized the brush folder with subfolders. Unfortunately I started getting errors and Gimp won't start up. Through trial and error I have discovered when Gimp loads up it seems like it loads into the available brush tab every single brush in all the files and sub-folders in the Brushes folder. So no matter how I organize the folder I get an error and it locks up. This seems like some sort of glitch.
Am I missing something or is there a plug in that can manage the brushes? Right now I am manually switching brushes out in the folder when I need them and it is a bit of a strain.
Thanks so much for the help

Gimp 2.10 fails to show folder (snap version) |

I have found the solution but this may be useful for others
I've just installed 2.10 on Xubuntu 18.04LTS; previously using 2.8, This was the version available from the 'Software' application. It installed and ran without issue but would not show a particular folder.
On this machine I have a partition mounted as /other with sensible permissions (r/w for my user and r otherwise) and 2.8 has no problems with it. However with the snap 2.10 it simply did not show the /other at all and I was also surprised that for many of the other folders the date last modified was very different from that shown by the file manager itself (thunar 1.6.15) and also added a folder named 'writable' for some reason.
I did search but couldn't find anything specific but I did find several comments about things not quite working with the snap version.
So I removed that version and set up the ppa as per
https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Gimp-2...-18-04-LTS
installed that version and it is all back to working....
Very irritating

Hi
I have GIMP installed on my computer but I don't know how to use it well.
Instead of me paying someone to edit my photos I would rather do it myself
The first 3 photos I have uploaded are what I had done myself by simply cutting copying and pasting the subject onto the backgrounds
all my image files are to big to upload hear. best leave it then

Hi,
i'm a Kubuntu user of GIMP 2.10.12.
After installing gimp 2.10.12 using the flatpak feature, i discovered that i can not anymore import an image from my scanner as usually.
There is no more File->Create->Xsane or File->Create->scanner/device_xxx
How can i import image directly from scanner ?
