Hi All.

I am pretty new at GIMP, but trying to learn.


The image below is made in Autodesk Inventor and i am trying to illustrate Foam
getting injected from a doorway sanitiser to the floor.

What function could i use to make the foam look somewhat realistic?

I have not been able to find any tutorials on that particular subject.

Hello. New Gimp user here, so hopefully posting in the right place. Using GIMP 2.10.14 on Mac, I would like to create a background image/wallpaper for a website similar to the attached--please see (also here is a link to the sample background image: adpartnersagency.  Edit: that is a bit too close to advertising, this the one with the three images - https://i.imgur.com/jKOLzeP.jpg - rich). So basically I am looking to:

1. Place three original images across one canvas, creating a single new image.
2. Have all three original images on the canvas / new image separated by two equidistant diagonal lines.

Any help as to the best way to do this would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I don't really know anything about photoshop. But I was using the free select tool and I'm zoomed in so that I can see the individual pixels. But for some reason it keeps on going into a triangle or something.

Hi everyone i am learning gimp (2.10.18 Linux version) usage and i have found several tutorials for the basics but not for more complex tasks. For example i have an image A which have car parked on a street and i have another image B which shows a blue caribbean sea. Let's say i select the car from the image A and want to use that car to select and cut or copy a car shaped caribbean sea and copy it in the image A instead of the car so that where originally was the car it would be a sea with the shape of that car. Is there any way to do that? Thanks in advance

My align tools are greyed out and don't do anything when I click them(see image in link). Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

Hi!

I am a GIMP newbie.

I was able to create an outline of the text "A" by using "Select>grow" command as shown in my attempt here. The red A is the grown 'A' and is on one separate layer and 'thin' black/original 'A' is on another layer. The red 'A'  layer is below the black 'A' layer. 

However, what I want is the subtraction of the grown text and actual text. In other words, I just need the outline and want the black 'A' region to become transparent. So I am looking for some kind of boolean operation of these two layers. 

Is there a way to do it? I would appreciate if you can point me in the right direction.

I've been struggling with this for a while and i can't find any relevant threads/forums addressing a similar issue.

Every time i want to create a custom brush, I get an error

"New Brush Message

Error while executing script-fu-paste-as-brush:

Error: Procedure execution of file-gbr-save failed: Running procedure 'file-gbr-save-internal' failed: execution error"

I use a macbook air.

I write little script for Gimp version 2.10.14, this script will an animation. It use some procedures so plug-in-displace, plug-in-bump-map but they don't work, i don't know why? I changed their signature, changed value in every param but without good result.  I want to get a result how i show in my attach file on picture

I want to extract some figures from a photo and edit it. Want to fill the selection but it adds a thick border to it.
Soft edges are reduced to 0 pixels. If i add some 50 pixels it extends the border. 
How can i fill the selection only up to the selection line?
I am new to GIMP, please help, it is so annoying that i cant proceed.
