Is there a way to bring a bar with custom buttons? I'd very much like one to contain my frequently used commands. Such a workflow improvement.
I've searched on the web for such a plugin but I couldn't find any.

We are using Gimp to create a transparency background from a autocad file. It works great, but we require another thing which I can't figure out. Once we create the transparency using "color to alpha" all of our walls etc... are in red (from autocad) I would like to change everything to black to stand out better in our graphics package.

Is this possible using Gimp?

By default saturation and value are displayed as 0-100 in the color picker. Is it possible to change this to 0-255?

I have an image premade and I want to UV map it onto my object.  However, there seems to be no way to "unfold" an object onto an existing image. it always creates that ABC squares map.  I need to see the correct image in the UV mapperizer so I can correctly lay out my UV coordinates.

I set the default layer preview size from Edit > preferences but it apparently does nothing.
I later learned on the web that there's another setting I could use - in the Layers window > little black arrow > Preview Size. This works but it lacks one size option present in the prefs: huge. This happens to be the only one I need.
The questions are:
What exactly does the option in prefs do?
How eventually do I get the huge layer preview size?

I have an image with about 300 layers. Layers are different widths. Lets say that the image (canvas) is 1000 pixels wide.
Layer no. 50 is 500 pixels wide. I run BRL on layer no. 50. The image gets cropped to 500 pixels wide.

The only workaround I have found so far is to copy layer no. 50 to a new image, run BRL on that, and then copy this back to the original image and anchor it. Clumsy and time consuming.

Any suggestions for a fix or an easy workaround?

Hi. I'm using Gimp 2.8.20. Running under Windows 10.
I just wondered if anyone has compiled a list of all the plugins and/or filters.
I might want to go through and try to understand how to use some of them.
I seem to learn best by trial and ERROR. (emphasis mine, of course)

   
I added a grass jpeg to this photo with Gimp, but didn't select the shadowed areas. What I'd like to do is to add the grass texture image to the shadowed areas, but maintain the shadow color. Is there a way to layer the grass jpeg under the shadowed areas and still keep the dark color?
