Could do with more information as to intent. Obvioulsy a banner, but what is going into the banner.
On its own, you can add a black-to-transparent gradient to the image directly. example https://i.imgur.com/pnvxgDW.jpg
If some sort of embelishment, it gets a bit more complicted.
Duplicate the layer
Destaturate the duplicate (recommend adjusting with Colours -> Desaturate -> Mono-Mixer That banner color is a bit washed out when destaturated)
Add a Layer Mask `Layer -> Mask _> Add Layer Mask (White) to the duplicate layer. Fill in the layer mask with a White-to-Black Gradient.

All sorts of other permutations, most will involve a layer mask with gradient somewhere.
