Hi, I posted my issue in the Gimp GitLab page, here:

Thanks to Michael Schumacher for the solution. I solved the problem (which I think affects all Windows 7 users) installing the Microsoft patch from here:

and modifying the registry.
Searching for updates (also manually) didn't work, too, and now it does. (I couldn't find the option to disable the automatic search for the updates
