Gimp menus unusable

Now that I can actually use Gimp, the font it is set to use is a little small and thin for my older eyes. How or where in the preferences can I change it to another font that might be a little easier for me to see?

Good advice for MacOS users.

I wonder if adding a "User" gtkrc file to the User profile would work. It just supplements the theme and avoids editing it.

There is a example here: https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Issues...8#pid39998

Easier to add (and remove if it does not work) than messing with the default theme files.

MacOS where is the User profile. ?

Fonts ?
I seem to recall the Apple Font-Book 'thing' causing problems in the past.  If you have a font file, something.ttf or .otf  you can add it to the fonts folder in your User profile. Only shows in Gimp.
