I'm not in a hurry personalty, I have worked without the addon manager for years, but like a lot of other plugins, it's quite addictive very quickly once you get used to them. XD
Plus from what I can understand from the code of the 2.10 / 2.14 version, it uses a lot more modules that are not unique to the Gimp & it manipulate home folders, so that can be tricky to get it right I imagine.
If I end up being impatient, I'll start learning Python 3 & try my hand at it, that will always be useful to learn ! ^^
