I couldn't resist and wanted to see some AI results based on this image.

Maybe not as good but straight out of the gmic plugin.

Hello rich2005!

I really liked your art.
I couldn't resist and had to play with this plugin for a few minutes.

I liked the colors so I kept them.

One thing that bothered me was that the trunk was too flat, although the treetop gave a 3D impression.

So I tried to round the trunk a bit.

I tried to find a filter that I thought would give a good result but I couldn't remember which G'MIC filter would do that. I searched, but without success.
But I was still lucky enough to find illuminate2dshape.

Then I kept playing around, with brushes, patterns, and seeing the results that were produced.

If I had more time available I would have continued playing around.

There is a lot to play with it, but nothing near the Ofnuts's "Electrified Brain"

Somehow the same technique but with a different goal: circular mazes

This is my "debug" version. When you have the color walls its easy, you just stay between two tree of different colors. Try this one instead.

Cool (colors do not affect the way I see it, though Big Grin )

denzjos, I was not aware of that, thus I'm proud to say that I did found the "shortest*" path before to read your post Cool (*shortest... might be the only path, though which I'm almost sure)

There is a second path which is mostly clockwise (and a bit longer).

Thank you Ofnuts, for the hint about a second path
I did find it overlooking in the "reverse" way (out ➤ in)  Cool
