When I export a 300 ppi image to tif, Gimp generates a file with 72ppi only and not 300 ppi as desired. But when I export the same source image do jpg, the target jpg image is 300 ppi.

How can I solve this problem and export a target tif file with 300ppi?

What is the version of the included Python? (first lines in the Python console)

New to gimp. Im trying to download a plug-in to measure a path but I'm running into a problem where when a go to select the file after going to Edit > Preferences > Folders > Plug-ins and then selecting my folder and entering my file manager, I am unable to select the .py file that I need. 

My version of gimp is 2.10.38 and my computer is macOS.

Would love some help with this.

I have Gimp 2.10 on a laptop running Linux Mint, and have downloaded GMIC thru the software installer. It does not show up on Gimp. I had this on a previous PC and it installed itself automatically, under "filters". What have I done wrong?

I like the "Legacy" as it is quite colourful with tool icons, but dislike the "Wilber" icon in the layers menu.  Changing the icon theme to "Default", the icon changes to "Fx".  This is what I prefer to appear under "Legacy".

Another of my stupid questions!!!

In my website photos plug-in, if I test for missing data input, how do I get it to print only my gimp message and exit.

I have been searching for this all day and tried numerous things without success.
Most of the things I have tried add additional error messages.

Gimp 2.10.?? (.20?) slowed down opening pictures in two stages, from fast unless from a folder with very many files, to about two seconds, then several seconds, with no known changes to software or disc space.

Installed 2.10.38 in hope of improvement, but It now takes 20 seconds to open a .jpg, no matter the size (30kb or 3mb) or location.

Windows 10.

Will appreciate any help.

I've lost the box to the left that used to come up with text tool. When I try to change liine spacing in the controls above the text box nothing changes except uselessly adding text layers in the window that does show: does not change the actual line spacing at all. It is using the last line spacing I added which is now creating way too much space between lines than what I want. Do not want to reinstall GIMP because I fear losing the color palettes I've set up. Thanks for any help.
