I've been experimenting with this technique and ran into an issue. I want to place text along the circumference of an existing circle (a circular object as opposed to a Gimp-drawn circle). I create the circular text and Gimp places it inside the edge boundary of the object, so I used the Move Tool to position it on the outside edge of the rim. When I did this the text warped a bit. How to avoid this?

Should I have perhaps created a circle drawn by Gimp to layer over the outside rim of the circular object?

Hello, I don't know where I am supposed to look for a solution for this issue or how to best describe it, but here goes nothing.

This issue seems to be very specific and complex. I am trying to open and edit a .png file, which I ripped off the core system of my iPhone via software. But gimp is giving me an error message that simply says:

"Opening 'BatteryBG_4@2x.png' failed:

Error while reading 'BatteryBG_4@2x.png'. File corrupted?"


I know the file is not corrupted. It looks like it has something to do with the source of that image, as re-saving such image will make it work. But I don't know how to do so on a Mac computer, since opening it on gimp doesn't work obviously. I would simply have to get rid of the source.

I downloaded the plugin from the github repository but I get this ouput:

I wish to process grayscale images, and convert the gray shades (brightness 0-255) to hue (0-255), pixel for pixel.

More control over the color mapping is better, but I can make do with that by modifying the grayscale image first.

I can find no mention of such an operation. Am I missing something obvious? Is there a way for the GIMP to do this? Is there a plugin that will do it?

I have made some projects with some layers with varying level of opacity on them.
Then, exporting to PDF the opacity level and layer mode type are lost and all the layers return back to default mode obstructing everything else instead of being applied as intended properly blending as overlays on the man image layers.

I traced a few circles on a existing drawing with a path using the ofnuts plugin 'Shapes / On strokes / Circles' .Is there a plugin to define the center points of the circles? 

   

Hi Users of the famos Gimp-Software,

i use Gimp now about one year in the almost actual stable version. Since then i printed directly from Gimp to my A2-Fotoprinter, every thing was fine.
Now i got a new A1 Printer (Epson SC-P7500) and Gimp only shows A4 Papersize and Roll in Page-adjustment. I can choose any other paper format or single sheet what the printerdriver offers, close the Box but it did not any change. When opening Gimp Page adjustment it shows again A4 from Roll. Also Print-Size of GimpMenue has no effect.
In Printer-driver i can change also Paper and a lot of other things and they take affect, but at printing the image is always A4-size. Tested this with Gimp in Win10 and other PC with Win7.

All other Image-Software works fine (MS-Foto, XnView-MP, Paint, LibreOffice-Draw ...), can choose the paper size and image-size and printing works ok.

What i am doing wrong, please ?

If you have Steam on Linux, you can think that games made for the Microsoft's Windows won't work on Linux if they don't have the Steam icon, at least that's what I thought...
Then I came by this website > https://www.protondb.com where people gave their experience and trial on how to make a Windows specific game works on Linux choosing in Steam which Proton to use.

Long time ago I was addicted to a game called "Defense Grid: The Awakening" when I was on macOSX (not via the steam platform, though), and I always saw that it was only for Windows on Steam (no Steam icon).
On protondb.com a guy on Ubuntu set Steam to use proton 4.2 and said it was working like a charm, thus I get it a try and bought that game (Steam give you back the money if you ask them and explaining why).

Jeezzzz. what did I do?!?! My addiction to this game get back , and yes it's working like a charm setting Steam to use proton 4.2 for this game.

Now knowing this website (protondb), I'm scared to search a game for the Microsoft's Windows OS, cause now I'm almost sure someone found out a solution to make it work on Linux

Like in the picture attached. For the text it seems to look a bit smudged with some shadow and blur but not sure how this was done.
