Hello everybody,

Some image editors have a feature that makes it possible to visualize either the Fibonacci graph or the Aurea ratio grid.

In Gimp that I remember, there is something similar when I select the Scale tool and in the 'Guide' field there is the option 'Rule of thirds'.

In G'MIC there is 'Testing - Reptorian - Fibonacci', but it didn't seem practical to superimpose the image and look for better adjustments.

Does anyone know of a way to use GIMP and take advantage of these features (Fibonacci Grid and Golden Ratio)?

Taking advantage of the post, would anyone know if Inkscape would also have something similar to this feature?

I wanted to share with everbody that a Gimp integration into the Prism Pipeline has been released.

AltaArts/Gimp_Integration--Prism-Plugin (github.com)

Prism is a pipeline tool to organize all the data and files for a project.  It is mainly aimed at the VFX side of things and has support for many DCC's.

We have been using Prism and Gimp for while now, and I wanted to have them work together.  As of now, Gimp2 is supported.  But support for Gimp3 should be added at some point.

Feel free to use, modify, suggest, etc.

Hi,
In photoshop,  we have a effect called color range which helps me creating a digital pro mist filter effect but I'm unable to find any similar effect in gimp.
Does any one have any solution or name od the effect.

Downloaded Gimp 2.10.38 for Apple Silicon directly (wasn't sure if I should have done intel).  When I went to open image I tried to click on desktop to import my image so can't choose anything.  Quit program and reloaded but brought me to same page as must have it in cookies, tried clicking show all files on bottom but couldn't click on that either.


Also, wouldn't allow me also tried create new image but wouldn't let me click OK

Hello all.

So I am working on a plugin that saves and exports (amongst other things).  Got it all working, and it exports/saves correctly.

The small issue I have is that after the script exports the image (or other procedures), the status bar at the bottom of the UI (Gimp 2.10) gets stuck on for example "Exporting ...  Cancel" even though the image has been exported (see pic).

I tried  pdb.gimp_displays_flush(), but that does not seem to work.  Is there something I am missing?  Do I need to return a success or anything as a result?

Hello again everyone,

I am back with a question about automating tasks. I have the image below.

     

It is a quarter of a circle, 90 degrees. I want to make a gauge out of it by cutting it into 100 segments of 9 degrees each. Is there an easy way to do this?

Hello!

I am wondering if anyone could help me with tips on how to draw/make a 3d like effect of a box or a frame around a box that has a real sense of depth. What Im thinking of is something like the image below from the game "Hearthstone". If you look at the picture you can see the frame of the box looks really 3D with a lot of depth, and I also really like the way they use metal corners to, as it kind of adds to the 3d feeling.

I have tried to use the built in border effect (filter-decor-add border) like in the other attached image, but it feels very bland and looks at best like a photo picture frame, which is not the effect I am after.

I have also looked at some tutorials that use plugins with bevel and emboss features, but they have been outdated so now the links dont work, or the settings for the plugins have completely different options.

Dear forum members,

I'm having this small annoyance since I'm using Gimp under MacOS (from 2.10.34 to 2.10.38).

In the "File - Open" (or save, or save as) dialog boxes, some of the folders (but not all) have the same plain white icon as the files. It makes them difficult to distinguish (but it doesn't prevent the program from working perfectly).

I'm trying to attach a screenshot, to show better what I'm seeing.

Is there anything I can do about that? Thanks in advance for any advice. BR, Daniel
