Where can I find a user manual for Gimp for Windows?

I am using gimp 2.10.22
I would like to place text on a circle and use a background image to fill the text. I have found tutorials for both but not together? I have attached the text image.

First, let me say I am not techy. I installed gimp and am using it to scale photo's (I paint art). I also convert to Black and White. For some reason every time I go into artistic waterpixels it freezes, I opt to wait for the system to respond and 8 minutes later I can move a choice a few digits and it freezes again. I have removed gimp, reinstalled gimp, disconnected from the internet, etc, etc. This seems to be the only option to date that this happens to and of course its the one I need. Can anyone help me in non techy terms?

The dying plug-in may have messed up GIMP's internal state. You may want to save your images and restart GIMP to be on the safe side.


It's weird my super blade pro 1.8 was working perfectly fine then all of the sudden it stopped working I have tried removing it and reinstalling. Still not working. any help I would be ever so grateful

I am trying to reorganize file tabs by clicking and dragging to the position I want, but they do not move.  I've tried shift-click, ctrl-click, alt-click. win-click...nothing works.  What am I doing wrong?

If one have few time and want to make a design the easy way and optimize it in gimp then one can use this online programs :

Hello, I'm a novice user of gimp and I'm having an issue with the text tool. 

When I try to use the "Centered" alignment of the text tool, it seems to be aligning waaaay to the right. Take a look at the attached screenshot for an example.

I'm assuming there's some setting I've amended by accident. Does anyone have any clues?

This is my first post, thank you for hosting this forum.
Before I began this thread I have searched the forum (and the Net) for topics/search results that might already have dealt with my question, but I could only find results for Gimp ran on Windows. I run Lubuntu Linux (Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, 32 bits [I think]).

First of all, I am a n00b in both Linux and The Gimp . Please take this in consideration. My skill on installing or operating my Linux OS does presently not go beyond performing the sudo apt-get install "x" command. Please bear with me.

I recently saw an article online that demonstrated the life sketch function of the Beautify plugin. I was very impressed and would really like to use it.

The first problem is, is that I could not find the plugin anywhere on the Internet. Perhaps my n00b-fu is at fault here.  I would appreciate a link.
The second question would be, if I could please receive some guidance and advice as how to install the plugin. Taking my n00b-fu in consideration.

Silly, but if one want to put some text art in his design, this could be a help.

Make some text, choose the font, the parameters and the style (gray, white or old school green)
Make a screendump with the text in white style (background) to load it in gimp. (File / Create from clipboard)
To remove the background (if necessary) white in gimp :  Colours / Colour to Alpha
This remind me when I was working on a PC with a Hercules graphics card on a green or amber monochrome monitor.
