make lines thicker on already drawn object
Posted by: Gully - 12-31-2019, 04:39 PM - Forum: General questions - Replies (13)

I have several objects that are already drawn. After finishing them, I think they need to have thicker lines. Is there a way to make this so, without having to redraw the objects with a thicker line in the pencil or path tool?

I'm using GIMP 2.10 on linux.

Multi Change Layer boundary center & change size
Posted by: AmazingGimp - 12-31-2019, 08:26 AM - Forum: General questions - Replies (2)

I have multiple layers that require to center all the boundary layers and change all to the same size.
Is there anyway to select all the layers and adjust it at one go?

Trying to understand why CPU MAX OUT with Gradient
Posted by: scatterbrainz - 12-30-2019, 01:38 PM - Forum: General questions - Replies (1)

Greetings Everyone,

I'm trying to understand why GIMP - (version 2.10.14), when on i5-2500 cpu with 32GB RAM and GTX 760 (2GB), was maxing out system, but now on a AMD Ryzen 5 3600X with 32GB and a GTX 760 (2GB) its still MAXing out the cpu.

PS: I haven't re-installed anything yet. But I'm wondering why this is sucks up EVERYTHING !

  New Year

Considering this a graphics software forum, I thought you people will be putting some decorations for holidays. Not that it is important, but getting along with the festive mood is nice, right ?

The cursor won't move on the canvas. No matter how many times I reinstall GIMP.

This is what has been happening, as shown in this GIF.

I've had 2.10.8 for a while on my Windows 10 laptop and recently changed to 2.10.14 via uninstall in an attempt to fix this! Unfortunately the first part of this image is the vast norm and the part where it actually makes marks is rare and random (in fact it went back to no longer moving immediately after the GIF stopped recording) and even when that happens I can't switch tools. What in the world is causing this? How do I fix it?

Note, the transformation tools and filters/image adjustments work fine. It's just the drawing part which I need most

  2.10.14 is forcing 72 DPI ?
Posted by: Softsah - 12-29-2019, 04:49 PM - Forum: General questions - Replies (1)

Hello,

I've recently upgraded to GIMP 2.10.14 and have noticed that all of my 300DPI drawings when updating and saving them it is changing the DPI to 72. It doesn't matter if the drawing was created in 2.10.14 or not.

For instance I opened up drawing U-180 and I took a screen shot of the Image>Print Size window:

I then File > Save as and saved it as U-180a, went back to Image > Print Size and now it shows 72 DPI:

Is there something that I am missing or is this a bug?

I couldn't find anything in the official release notes but I did find an article that states "Also, images opened with GIMP will now default to 72 PPI when no explicit resolution is stored in the imported file."

Could it be that it's not saving the resolution?

Thanks,
Softsah

Is there a way to adjust gradient transition?
Posted by: marigolden - 12-29-2019, 02:53 PM - Forum: General questions - Replies (1)

I'm using the gradient tool but want the gradient to have less transition in between, basically be a little more severe. Is there a way to adjust for this?
