Hi all.  I am new to the forms because normally I can fix what is wrong with GIMP and get it to work with my computer. However, I finally took the plunge and downloaded 2.10 today. Thankfully I kept the older version on my computer as there's a lot wrong with the new version.

I am running a mac with mojave 10.14.3  After installing gimp, I moved the icon to the application folder and launched the application. It says "Varifying Gimp 2.10..." and stays that way about 5 minutes, then I get an error message that says "Gimp 2.10 can't be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed" I have to go to system prefs and accept through security tab.  Usually, I only have to do this once, and then I'm good to go. So far, I've opened gimp 3 times, and had to enter security 3 times.

Gimp 2.8 didn't take this long to open, I don't have a lot of custom fonts, or brushes. I would like to get rid of some of the symbol fonts because I never use them. Not sure this would help.


What can I do to make gimp open quicker, and get rid of the "cannot be opened" problem? All the stuff that worked before, or works with other applications, don't appear to work with 2.10.  Thanks

I'm relatively new to GIMP, so I apologize in advance if my question is silly. I have found the following pictures of a sphere and of an ellipsoid 


I would like to change the color of the ellipsoid to that of the sphere and I tried to rotate colors. The best I managed to do is the following: 

While the color is somewhat similar to that of the sphere, it doesn't really make the visual impression to me of the same color. Is there any method to improve this?

Hello

I used to be able to use GIMP to paste transparent images onto existing backgrounds. All I had to do was right-click and 'Copy Image' then 'Paste Into Place' on the existing background image. Recently, it has not been working at all. All I get after pasting the transparent image is a black background as shown in the screenshot below. I have GIMP 2.10.8. I use Chrome and Windows 10. Would using an older version of GIMP solve my issue?

I've designed a font I want to use in Inkscape. At the moment I have to design each word I want to use and then export it from Inkscape and then drop it into gimp. Is there a way I can just " Upload" the alphabet in the of the font I've designed so I can just type words I want to use in gimp?

I'd like to ask how to draw colors in selections that are based on angles, for example, like on the cover of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album, as such:

The width of the rainbow expands as it goes further away from the prism, and the width of each individual color expands right along with it at 1/6th the width of the total width at any given point along the rainbow. I know that I can easily hand-draw it, but then the ratios wouldn't be right, and it would look really, really, awfully, terribly unprofessional.

Also, while I'm on the topic, I'd like to also ask how I can do fuzzy blends of the same thing, for example such as something like this:

I recently installed Gimp(2.10.8) on my computer and I am having trouble installing the resynthesizer plugin.
I downloaded the plugin, unzipped and put the .exe and .py files in the plug-ins folder, but the Heal selection still does not show up in the filters menu. I was previosly using another computer and had no problem with this.
Also noticed that the python-fu entry is missing. Is that the problem and how do I fix it?
This is on windows 7
