Hi forum -

I play a game where we can create avatar skin and some creators are probably using some expensive software to emulate realistic skin features and I'd like to get some advice on how I can mimic goose pimples and pores on skin realistically in Gimp. I know if can be done in Gimp and I've had some success, but it's not great.

Any pro tips on how this can be done is vastly appreciated.

I was fiddling around with BIMP (Batch Image Manipulation Plugin) and I ran into a problem I couldn't solve.
I have a large amount of images that I want to make square.
Example: if an image is 500x700, it should be resized to 700x700, without stretching the image, and while keeping the image centered.

Anyone any idea how I can fix my problem?

No longer able to afford photoshop. I'm a screenprinter looking to do a zip a tone (screentone) effect. What are my options? The only info I find regarding is from 2011 ish.   Cheers in advance.

If this is answered already, please share the thread with me.  I have tried different keywords in the search and the threads that popped up haven't been my issue or didn't help.

I am trying to get my surface pen to show up as an input device in Gimp on my Surface Go.  So far it's not even listed in the list of input controllers let alone devices.  It works fine in sketchbook and everything else, just not Gimp.

I changed the dynamics on my brush to pressure opacity, nothing.  I updated all drivers and windows and still nothing. I am at a loss.  My only alternative I can think of is Photoshop, which I don't care for at all.  Either that or go and purchase a Wacom Bamboo Ink stylus specifically for Gimp (as I have seen people saying that works well). 

Has anyone had this issue and found the solution?  I need pressure sensitivity to work in Gimp.  Please help if you can.  Thanks.

Whenever I make I selection, then Float it and edit it, if I press enter to acknowledge de changes or press the "Anchor Layer" Button the Layer just disappears. Is it a bug?

Hi, Im doing a map for the game Worms Reloaded. The background can be created using transparency or if I create 2 layers, the background can be black instead of transparent, so black or transparent will do a background. But I want to change the color of the background (when Worms Reloaded see black or transparent, it sets a default background image from the game, but I dont want default background). 
But how do I change the color of the background if the game only see background as black or transparent? 
In other words I want a background image or color but it need to be transparent at same time so it will work as background (everything that is black or transparent I cant touch ingame, so it works as background, images or color is not transparent so I can touch ingame.
I think it should be something like a image layer behind the background.

Im very new to Gimp, just downloaded it yesterday to work with game maps

I want to arrange a set of figures along an arc. At the moment, the figures are defined by a groups of paths. I'm wondering if that set of paths can be aligned to another path in an arc shape, in a way that's similar to setting text along a path.

I've been trying to search on various things like "path along path" and not getting anywhere. Not sure what to call it!

I'm new to gimp and pretty much a novice at using it. But, I have done quite a bit of work with CNC routers and am dabbling with laser engraving.  This led me to create a gimp plug-in that converts images to g-code for laser engraving. I have versions for 2.8 and 2.10 on Windows and a separate version for linux. I haven't tried it on a mac but am pretty sure I can get that going as well.

If there is interest, I'd be happy to make it public.
