Hello!

I've recently switched over to Arch Linux. Often, when I'm using my Wacom tablet in Gimp, Gimp locks up to where I can only use my tablet in the main window. Clicking on any other Gimp windows (layers, tools) with both the tablet and the mouse gives no response. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is this a bug?

I was hoping to find a picture of the type of color that US soldiers used during the Vietnam war - a type of olive green. However, because it is not considered camoflage, this site does not have a copy of it.

Does anyone know of any other websites similar to Camopedia?

If you wanted to use Gimp to make a US Army uniform, where would you go to find the right color scheme to copy?

I am currently working on trying to retexture the uniforms in this picture:

The game is called "Company of Heroes". Effectively I just want to change the soldiers top so that it is a green color - the same color as the pants and helmet. I am trying to make them look more like Vietnam era US soldiers.

I have changed the color but ingame the soldiers appear quite dark. It is obvious that I am doing something wrong.

The original file is in .rgt format but I change it to .dds to edit it and then convert if back. There is a whole list of files that seem to relate the the uniform:

These files all look similar - but some have the uniform in black, others in all white.

At the moment I have tried just editing the tex_al_rifleman.dds and then exporting that. But I thought that editing the one file may be the reason that the soldier appears kind of dark - or as if a shadow is cast upon him.

So I tried editing this file and then adding all the rest as a layer - still same problem. Also, is there any way to tell which file should be the bottom layer and which should be the middle and top?

I mean some of these files just show the soldiers uniform all colored white while others show the uniform all colored black...

Any advice?

I'm in some way frustrated because I can't repeat the following effect to my background graphic:

I filled the whole background with the pattern and used a color gradient to get personal tough 

But I can't remember, how I did it.

I need some tips.

I am trying to edit an image (imported png saved as xcf), mode is already RGB but still the whole Colours menu is greyed out and none of the usual colour tools work (colorise, HUE-mode layers, etc). All layers remain stubbornly black and white. The colours menu is completely greyed out, mode is already RBG, file is xcf. Help!

Hello - I hope you can help me with this issue, as I love GIMP.

My computer recently had a clean install of Windows 10 Pro. Before the crash of c:\ GIMP 2.10 worked perfectly.

I have lots of space on C.:\, 8 GB RAM and SSD.

Now I also had to reinstall GIMP, which means I am now on 2.10.6 .

GIMP always say "not responding" ie when I try to open an image or save and image, and more actions.

I have removed with Revo several times and reinstalled, but I have the same problem.

I have tried to install older versions, but I can only find unstable versions. Of course I have sarched this forum without finding anything when I search for the term "responding"

I would be grateful for input.

I open a picture to modify it and there a message tells that this photos has a color profil embedeed sRGB-IEC61966-2.1 and ask if I want to convert to work space RVB, with additionnal setting I do not understand.

I have 2.10.6 flatpak.  I need the normal map plugin.  I can install it with the synaptic manager, but I have no idea where it is now.  I don't have 2.8 anymore. Any ideas?

Ok I installed 2.8 and the normal map plugin with the synaptic manager. It works, and that is good, but my default .gimp2.8 plugins folder is empty. Does anyone know where the synaptic installer puts the normal map plugin?

An action in photoshop is great to sharpen photos. It is concerning the following action, Russell Brown's detailing action that one can found on: https://www.photoshop.com/spotlights/russell-brown. I tried to make the same thing in gimp, but I think I missed something because the result is a more colorful photo, but it is not sharpen. It use a negative curve preset in photoshop. I don't know how to do that in gimp. Anyone? Thanks in advance.
