At first i thought this is simply a matter of finding the right Layermode, but nothing seems to result in white when blue and red are being overlayed.
Am i missing something obvious ?

I'm all of a sudden not able to move or delete layers. I try to drag a layer below another one and it refuses to move there. I try to drag the layer into the trash bin, it won't go. I even tested this on new documents. I create a new document, create a couple of layers, try to drag the top one below the other, try to drag it to the trash bin, and it won't go. Restarting Gimp doesn't help.

Has anyone seen this before?

I'm an astrophotographer coming from Photoshop. My images are very large and when I make an edit in gimp I have to wait for the edit to complete before I can move on. What I would like to do is make a small image, do all of my edits, and apply those edits to the large image. Is there a script (or something else) available for this?

I have a bunch of scripts i'd like to study/reverse engineer.
Sadly i dont understand the scripting language, and its a lot of work to look up every step with the console.

Is there a way to "play" a script in slowmotion so i can watch the steps, or some kind of verbose log or something ?

I'm brand new to this forum (and quite new to GIMP)
I need to pick a color from an image and then fill part of another image with that color.

Cam someone tell me how can I do that?

I am new to this forum; not new to Gimp, but have been using it mainly for resizing or converting photos to other formats. Now I want to do something more with my new Wacom graphic tablet.

I am using Gimp 2.8.18 on Debian 9.

My Problem:

I have a nice image (photograph), convert the mode to "indexed", see the corresponding colormap under Palettes in the palette dockable window. But I cannot find a way to save this new color map for use in other images. Searching my heart out in the net, I have come to this:

Hi everyone, I'm relatively new to Gimp after being an Adobe Photoshop user.

I was wondering how I could go about taking a portrait and reducing it to it's basic colors and lines? I want it to look like it was drawn or maybe etched.

I been having a problem in gimp gimp where my huion pen seems to lag a bit while drawing the start of a line. It won't show the line at first but when it does part of the beginning is straight even when it's ment to be curved. I thought it was due to te fact that I tryed using a huion and wacom(not at once) but in mspaint there's no lag at all. 
Also I seen pressure sensitively works in the huion pressure sensitively test but in gimp there's no trace of it and there used to be.

I know about not making the canvas size to large I usually work with width being 1700(worked fine before no problems) at most and height being below that but this time I used 1000x1000 and went even lower the screenshot canvas was 500x500. 
I also removed the press and hold right click thing.
