  ofn3-align-layers
Posted by: Ofnuts - 12-07-2024, 09:58 PM - Forum: Extending the GIMP - Replies (11)

A conversion of ofn-layer-aligner, can handle several layers  in one swoop.

At the expected place.

Enjoy.

PS: learned the hard way that when you use the wrong operator to compute a scale factor, Gimp will happily attempt to create a terapixel image. Took a while for the OOM-killer to react....

Hello. The "clone" function has stopped working. Pressing the "c" key or "Ctrl" does not help. The other functions work properly. GIMP 2.10.38
Best regards, Mateo

Maybe there is something wrong with the settings.

I can't find my settings on my old drive
Posted by: PixLab - 12-06-2024, 05:34 AM - Forum: General questions - Replies (2)

I actually have 2 internal drive on my computer, the old one with Ubuntu-MATE and all my GIMP things
and the new one with MX Linux and new GIMP, thus I'm fetching things to my old drive from MX Linux, no problem, but my GIMP fonts' directories are empty... thus I'm a bit confused of where are my old settings stored Huh
I speak about the settings like grouping fonts, etc... that I did made for fonts, gradients, patterns, etc... For reference > https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Font-m...1#pid38821

usr/share/gimp/2.0/fonts/
and
home/patrice/.config/GIMP/2.10/fonts/
are empty on my drive where Ubuntu-MATE is Confused

I would like to bring back all my GIMP config and installed fonts/script/everything ➤ Not in mass, but slowly as it needs some clean-up on the way

Thus my question is where are those settings that I input manually like this example https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Font-m...1#pid38821
Thanks for reading (not sure if I understand what I wrote Undecided )

Only One Thing -- Losing My Toolbox Locations
Posted by: Coffeeman26 - 12-05-2024, 08:39 PM - Forum: General questions - Replies (1)

Great application!

I've been using GIMP for years, first on Linux, and now on MACOS. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into this excellent Photo Editor!

Only one thing really gets me.

I can lose all the entire toolbox locations in GIMP apparently with one errant keystroke, while it requires digging through Settings and a complete application restart to Restore the Tool locations.

Could we 1) make a 'do you want to save changes' to losing all your toolboxes. or 2) have a restore tool locations on restart as a default, because nobody really means to do it...

Thanks!

My friend has it (kuvan laatu), but not me. We have same Epson ET-2750 printers and also Linux Mint Mate and same Gimp version 2.10.30
Here is the photo of our Tabs:

  defaults

Is there a way to set your own defaults for the Sharpen (unsharp), hue-saturation, shadows-highlights, etc.?
By the way, I picked the gimp version 2.99 because my version wasn't listed which is 2.10.36 the actual version I'm using.

Photo How to change a photograph to look more like a drawing
Posted by: Tygra - 12-03-2024, 12:06 PM - Forum: General questions - Replies (10)

Hi there,

I am working on the image in the attachment.

If you see the planets in the sky don't really look like a photograph. However, the beach and the ocean do. My question is: how can I make the beach and the ocean (which is one layer) look more like the planets. I am very inexperienced and have thought of using the artistic filters, but really I haven't got a clue what I am doing.

Can someone help please?

Many thanks,

Tygra
