I love the ShareX function called "Cut out" - where you can cut out a middle section of an image and then it automatically merges the left/right or upper/lower parts of the image (see attached screenshot from ShareX).

Can this be done just as easily with GIMP?

first a short introduction to myself: i am a retired photographer and have changed to Linux (Debian 12) using darktable and gimp. Everything works well with one exception: i can't configure my graphics tablet to better support my workflow.

So, first the facts: Debian 12 with Gnome, Gimp 2.10.34, Wacom Intuos Pro Small (PTH-451)

I want to utilize the keys and the wheel while using Gimp, but looking at Input Devices the Options available are xwayland-tablet-cursor/eraser/pad/stylus , but no options to use the keys or the wheel. Pushing the Wheel Button it says : Wacom Intuos Pro and that's it

As there is no Driver or support from Wacom i am just wondering how to utilize these functions.

Is there a script or an extension that I can use to add the gps location from its exif data to the image as a text or a watermark? Thanks

I am considering upgrading Gimp from 2.10.32 to 2.10.34.  I am using Windows 10.  I tried installing gmic but I get an error message when I execute Gimp libicuuc72.dll not found.  A little research tells me the driver is in Gimp 2.10.34.

I usually use the defaults upon installation.

I am generally satisfied with 2.10.32 but if a new installation has benefits that I can use I want to give it a try.  What will I lose?  I have a lot of custom templates.  Will I have to remake the templates?  I also have several keyboard assignments.  Will I have to remake the keyboard assignments.  I also have several default folders set up.  Will I have to reestablish the default folders? There are likely other features I customized... dockable windows?

When making a change like this I usually clone the OS drive so I can revert to the way it was if things don't work the way they are intended.  I want to know if there is something I can do to preserve Gimp the way I am using it or will I have to reconfigure everything?

I would like to program instagram posts ahead of time. It is possible from the mobile app once I switch my account to creative account, but not through a web browser. But I want to do it from my laptop because it's much more handy and because I prepare the pictures I want to publish on gimp (so on my laptop).
So far,  I have tried to :
- use firefox making it pretend that it's a mobile version. no succes. accessing instagram through a web browser won't work, even from a mobile, I guess
- install a android emulator (or virtual machine, I 'm not sure) named Waydroid on my laptop (linux ubuntu). No success because the touch-screen emulation does not work well enough, I could never post anything.
- install Istekram. No success, would not even pass the splash screen.

I plane to try other virtual machines/emulators and see if one does the trick.

But maybe someone here would have pieces of advice ? I'm open to Windows only solution too.

thats  ok  but  as  I  move  the  brush  to   put  colour on  pic
the  circle  over  the  orig  color  moves.....  surely  for  best  results  that  should
remain  still   getting  the  exact  colour  I  want  ?
