When I run GIMP-bin at /Applications/GIMP.app/Contents/MacOS, I get lots of error messages.
Eg.
Code:
(GIMP-bin:58759): LibGimpBase-WARNING **: GIMP-bin: gimp_wire_read(): error
dyld: Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Resources/lib/libgimpui-2.0.0.dylib
Referenced from: /Applications/GIMP.app/Contents/Resources/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/softglow
Reason: image not found
If I try to run from Spotlight, it takes a very long time to load.

I'm running 2.8.22 on Windows 10.
I've watched a few videos and done some Googling but still have some questions...
0 - First I should ask... is Gimp vector based or a bitmap program or what?
1 - Once I create/design a shape with the Path Tool and go on to use the Rectangle Tool to create and Stroke a rectangle...
How can I "re-select" the shape created with the path tool so I can perform additional edits?
2 - When I use the Rectangle Tool to create a rectangle and Stroke it as a Solid Line... say 5 px...
Why are the vertical lines of the rectangle wider than the horizontal lines?
(Image area = 1,000 by 1,000)
4 - When I create a closed path with the Path Tool and switch to edit in order to curve the nodes... I saw in one tutorial you could click the node to delete it... but I can't seem to make that work...
4a - How to delete node on closed path?
4b - Why when I go back to design mode on the path it seems to work like edit mode in that I can click a node and curve it?
4c - I can only seem to move a node by going back to design mode... right?
Thanks for any help.

Help with missing font |

Hi,
II produced a book cover with the text in a font whose name I cannot remember. Now I need to edit the text. In the meantime I have upgraded my computer and reinstalled GIMP (running Linux Mint). But this version of GIMP apparently does not recognise the font I used. I'd rather not change the font. Is there any way I can get a larger batch of fonts installed which might contain the one I used? Or any other suggestions?
Many thanks.

Can't move/delete layers |

Hello,
I'm all of a sudden not able to move or delete layers. I try to drag a layer below another one and it refuses to move there. I try to drag the layer into the trash bin, it won't go. I even tested this on new documents. I create a new document, create a couple of layers, try to drag the top one below the other, try to drag it to the trash bin, and it won't go. Restarting Gimp doesn't help.
Has anyone seen this before?

I'm an astrophotographer coming from Photoshop. My images are very large and when I make an edit in gimp I have to wait for the edit to complete before I can move on. What I would like to do is make a small image, do all of my edits, and apply those edits to the large image. Is there a script (or something else) available for this?

I have a bunch of scripts i'd like to study/reverse engineer.
Sadly i dont understand the scripting language, and its a lot of work to look up every step with the console.
Is there a way to "play" a script in slowmotion so i can watch the steps, or some kind of verbose log or something ?

I'm brand new to this forum (and quite new to GIMP)
I need to pick a color from an image and then fill part of another image with that color.
Cam someone tell me how can I do that?
TIA
