Hello everyone,

I’m new to GIMP and currently learning how to use the Curve Bend feature.
I’m working on an image of a mug and trying to apply a logo or other designs onto it. However, sometimes the curve is applied successfully, and other times it isn’t, and I’m not sure why.
Could the issue be related to the angle of rotation I’m using? Or perhaps the shape of the curve itself? Or is there another problem with my process?

Here are the steps I’m following:
1-Load the mug image
2-Open the logo/image as a new layer.
3-Scale the logo/image if necessary.
4-Filters->Distorts->Curve bend .
5-Change the layer mode to Multiply.
6-Merge the layers

I saw this question from 2023.  The solution was to upgrade to 2.10.36.

I have 2.10.38 and it appears the problem is the same:  Export to pdf and BMP (I haven't tried the others so far, but I need pdf) is always blank and 8.5x11, rather than my chosen canvas size.

One attachment shows the thumbnail from the XCF file and the other shows the thumbnail from the pdf.

Hi, all. New GIMP user here.

Is there an option in GIMP to view the distance between guides?

Example from Fireworks.

A conversion of ofn-layer-aligner, can handle several layers  in one swoop.

At the expected place.

PS: learned the hard way that when you use the wrong operator to compute a scale factor, Gimp will happily attempt to create a terapixel image. Took a while for the OOM-killer to react....

Hello. The "clone" function has stopped working. Pressing the "c" key or "Ctrl" does not help. The other functions work properly. GIMP 2.10.38

I actually have 2 internal drive on my computer, the old one with Ubuntu-MATE and all my GIMP things
and the new one with MX Linux and new GIMP, thus I'm fetching things to my old drive from MX Linux, no problem, but my GIMP fonts' directories are empty... thus I'm a bit confused of where are my old settings stored

and
home/patrice/.config/GIMP/2.10/fonts/
are empty on my drive where Ubuntu-MATE is

I would like to bring back all my GIMP config and installed fonts/script/everything ➤ Not in mass, but slowly as it needs some clean-up on the way

Great application!

I've been using GIMP for years, first on Linux, and now on MACOS. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into this excellent Photo Editor!

Only one thing really gets me.  

I can lose all the entire toolbox locations in GIMP apparently with one errant keystroke, while it requires digging through Settings and a complete application restart to Restore the Tool locations. 

Could we 1) make a 'do you want to save changes' to losing all your toolboxes. or 2) have a restore tool locations on restart as a default, because nobody really means to do it...
